Art tribute for COVID-19 frontliners

The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Brunei Darussalam invited health workers as well as frontliners involved in the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak in the country to the private viewing of Pengiran Abdul Wahab Hassan Al-Abbas’ painting exhibition at the embassy last Saturday.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar was the guest of honour.

Turkish Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Mehmet Suat Akgün and Pengiran Abdul Wahab were also in attendance. The embassy organised the visit for frontliners to express gratitude for their efforts during the pandemic.

A total of 194 paintings were on display at ‘The Flowing Ancient River’ art exhibition, which
ended on Sunday.

The one-week art exhibition also saw a number of side events such as an interactive live painting session by Pengiran Abdul Wahab, Pengiran Timbang bin Pengiran Haji Tuah and Dr Haji Zakaria bin Abdul Hamid with young artists and art students; a masterclass for emerging artists; art talks by Pengiran Abdul Wahab, Pengiran Timbang, and moderated by Osman Mohammad; and a masterclass with children with different abilities.
