Family Empowerment and Economic Development (FEED) Project launched its FEED Mentoring Programme and Business Creating Impacts Initiative 2020 yesterday, in a ceremony officiated by CEO Nurul Najibah binti Mohd Ridhwan and Chief Marketing Officer Nur Diyana binti Sulaiman.
The event was attended by several FEED partners, participants of the mentoring programme and invited guests from the private sector.
Eight shortlisted participants are attending the programme, which serves to realise the mission of FEED Management Services in helping financially-challenged families to gain knowledge and skills in business start-ups. The mentoring session began last week, involving several mentors and trainers who are former assistance recipients, as well as micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) operators, to train the participants and uses a unique learning system delivered in a language that is easy for the recipients to understand.
The ‘Business Creating Impacts’ Initiative or BCI, meanwhile, is a networking platform of a group of companies that has contributed in helping financially-challenged families through FEED Project, while at the same time becoming role models and inspirations to other businesses.
BCI is also launched to raise awareness on responsible consumerism, and companies that have been recognised as a member of BCI have also been given an accredited certificate and sticker to be pasted at their respective premises.
FEED Project Management Services is a social enterprise founded in 2017 and rebranded in 2020, with the initiative of helping financially-challenged families and individuals to earn income via mentoring programme.
In June 2020, FEED Project acquired its own training centre at Gadong Properties where the establishment connects financially- challenged families with its project partners, mentors and companies to further enhance their skills and knowledge in kick-starting their small businesses as well as to help market their services and promote them effectively.
Since 2017, FEED Project has helped six families, who currently rely on their businesses as the main source of income.
