Voting at Myanmar embassy on October 2-4

The Embassy of Myanmar in Brunei Darussalam will hold a voting event for the general elections at its chancery in Kampong Rimba.

Myanmar Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam U Htin Lynn said Myanmar will hold its general elections on November 8.

Myanmar nationals in Brunei can cast advance votes at the polling station in the embassy’s premises from October 2-4 from 8am to 5pm.

Myanmar nationals are required to bring their identification documents including passports and Myanmar National Identification cards or copies.

Voters must also follow the provisions in Chapter 13 of Election Law: Offences and Penalties related to Vote Casting at polling station prescribed by the Union Election Commission of Myanmar as well as Brunei’s Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 guidelines.

The ambassador said the embassy is expecting 314 Myanmar nationals to vote. He said information including the list of enfranchised voters is available at the embassy’s website.
