Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) celebrated the 29th anniversary of its establishment with a Sunnat Hajat prayer and Doa Kesyukuran ceremony at Kampong Limau Manis Mosque yesterday.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman as the Advisor to TAIB Board of Directors was the guest of honour.
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof in his capacity as the Chairman of TAIB Board of Directors, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal) Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman in his capacity as the Deputy Chairman of TAIB Board of Directors, Legislative Council member and Village Head of Kampong Limau Manis Yang Berhormat Haji Mohimin bin Haji Johari @ Jahari, Managing Director of TAIB Datin Hajah Hasnah binti Haji Ibrahim, members of the Board of Directors, members of the Syariah Advisory Committee as well as the management, officers and staff of TAIB and local congregants of Kampung Limau Manis Mosque also attended.
The ceremony commenced with mass Sunnat Hajat prayer led by Rozaime bin Haji Bunal, followed by the recitation of Surah Yassiin and Doa Kesyukuran.
The anniversary commemorates TAIB’s official launching on September 29, 1991 by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
At the time of the launch, TAIB was a pioneer among financial institutions in Brunei Darussalam in being the first to offer financial products and services in accordance with Islamic faith.
