Ministry of Development (MoD) and Politeknik Brunei (PB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish cooperation in the awarding of bridging programmes and cooperation in areas of mutual interest during the launching of the ARMECS Bridging
Programme yesterday.
Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Ir Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar and Deputy Minister of Education and Chairperson of Politeknik Brunei Board of Governors Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh were present.
Permanent Secretary (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) and Co-Chair of MISC in Construction Haji Amer Hishamuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Zakaria signed on behalf of MoD while PB Acting Director Lim Kian Boon signed on
behalf of PB.
Legislative Council member and Co-Chair of MISC Construction Yang Berhormat Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman and Registrar at PB Hajah Hanipah binti Haji Apong were witness signatories.
The MoU, a collaborative partnership in awarding the certification of the ARMECS Bridging Programme aimed to bridge the identified gaps between the industry needs and the graduates’ current skills as well as to pave the way towards the nation’s greater success and achievements, said Yang Berhormat Siti Rozaimeriyanty. Five PB alumni were selected as trainees under the iReady ARMECS Bridging Programme alongside graduates from abroad.
