Promoting diversity, inclusion in workplace

Standard Chartered Brunei recently invited Jo Art Gallery to showcase the talents of differently abled young artists by displaying their art pieces within the bank’s main office.

The initiative led by the Property Management Department at Standard Chartered collaborated with Jo Art Gallery for the art gallery display. Some 22 art pieces are on display at the bank’s main office. A selection of the pieces are for sale with proceeds going directly to the artists, Adrian Chu Ying Fook and Stephenie Ng Hui Yen. The artworks were unveiled by Standard Chartered Bank Brunei CEO Pengiran Aki Ismasufian bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim and Head of Property Management Irene Shim in the presence of staff, the young artists and Jo Art Gallery representatives.

This was followed by a presentation by Jo Art Gallery on the nurturing of the artists through their abilities.

The artworks will be showcased at the bank throughout the year and will be inspired by the turning of the seasons. For this season, the artworks depict the natural world in all variety of its brown, orange, yellow and golden shades.

Pengiran Aki Ismasufian said, “We have much to be proud of at Standard Chartered in the area of diversity and inclusion (D&I), as D&I has always been at the core of Standard Chartered, given our footprint and our history. Through this art display initiative, we want to inspire and further promote D&I in the workplace while supporting the community in recognising the many different talents, abilities and potential that everyone possesses.”
