The Charity Food & Bake Sale, organised by the Britain Brunei Business Forum (BBBF) at Mabohai Shopping Complex yesterday, was well-received by the public.

The charity event was the second of its kind held to raise funds for the Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BDNAB).

BBBF Chairperson Yvonne Kuan, who launched the event, believes it is important to promote inclusivity and equality within the society.

“Today, there are 122 visually impaired individuals registered with the BDNAB,” she said. “We hope this event has brought focus to the association as well as its values and goals.”

Kuan expressed the association’s appreciation to organisations and individual contributors for supporting the event through the donation of baked goods.

Among the participating organisations included The Brunei Hotel, BizDigital, BizAdvize, BizIT Solutions, LiHo, KedaiKu and Culinary School by Laksamana College of Business.

BDNAB President Muhammad Hamzi bin Omar attended the event along with the association’s members.

The BBBF was founded under the patronage of the British High Commission in Brunei Darussalam to assist local entrepreneurs in finding British partners with the objective of enhancing business performance.

It also aims at encouraging British trade and investment in Brunei Darussalam as well as the Asia-Pacific region, becoming an authoritative voice for British businesses in Brunei and providing its members with practical support and advice via a range of scheduled events and online communities.

The organisation also circulates information about business opportunities with Britain within the local community and provides a diverse and inclusive network of British, international and local organisations with ties to British businesses.
