His Royal Highness Prince (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam attended the afternoon session of the 32nd Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Convocation for 621 graduates yesterday.
His Royal Highness was welcomed at the UBD Chancellor Hall by Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman and UBD Vice-Chancellor Datin Dr Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz.
His Royal Highness presented certificates to Master’s degree graduates of various disciplines, namely Master of Health Science (Biomedical and Nursing), Master of Public Health, Master of Medicine, Master of Defence and Security Studies, Master of Public Policy and Management, Master of Arts (Anthropology, English & Linguistic, History, Malay Literature and Professional Communication and the Media), Masters in Science (Biology, Bio Technology, Chemistry, Geosciences, Mathematics and Petroleum Geosciences), Master of Philosophy in Energy Studies, Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering as well as Masters of Management, Business Administration, Islamic Finance, Logistics Education, Counselling, and Teaching. Also receiving their certificates were graduates of Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Health Science (Dentistry and Medicine), Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma and Diploma.
Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar read the Doa Selamat.
In conjunction with the convocation, a Virtual Convo Run 2020 is being jointly organised by the Office of Alumni Relations and Advancement (QARA), UBD and the UBD Students Association (PMUBD).
Opened to UBD students, staff, alumni and the public, the event allows participants to run anywhere, at any time for a duration of one month with categories that include a three-kilometre fun run, 10-kilometre run, 21-kilometre half marathon, 42-kilometre full marathon and 100-kilometre run challenge.
