The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) held a launching of ‘Selera Bruneiku’ and Islamic Values in Tourism Services to promote local destinations, activities and products yesterday.
Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong presided over the launch of the new domestic tourism campaign.
Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Haji Abdul Hamid @Sabli bin Haji Arshad, members of the Brunei Tourism Board, foreign dignitaries, district officers, senior government officials, and partners of the domestic tourism campaign also attended.
To date, 12 tourist agencies, 10 hotels and 26 tourism service providers are involved in the collaborative efforts to provide domestic packages.
Initiated by the MPRT and the Brunei Tourism Board, through the Tourism Development Department, Selera Bruneiku is a food journey of special delicacies at participating restaurants and destinations in all four districts.
Tourists will also experience a range of cultural and sporting activities such as learning to make handicraft, trekking and going on a river cruise.
To ensure the health and safety standards of the tourism offerings are observed at all times, the Tourism Development Department is conducting inspections and spot checks at restaurants, public restrooms and places of interest, in addition to monitoring the quality of services.
