Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong stressed on the issue of fly infestation at several villages in Mukim Pengkalan Batu during a dialogue with executive development programmes participants.
Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali delivered an interactive session titled ‘Infestasi Lalat Mukim Pengkalan Batu’ aimed at sharing potential solutions to the infestation issue for well-being of residences and farmers. The current initiatives and measures taken by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) were also shared by the minister.
The dialogue involved the participation of government officers from the 28th Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO) and 29th Executive Development Programme for Middle Management Officers (EDPMMO) at Lecture Theatre 2, Library Complex, Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) UTB Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman also attended.
A case scenario was given to the participants to demonstrate their knowledge. With this, the participants gained exposure in designing innovative ideas in combatting challenges of infestation through public-private partnership (PPP)/private-sector finance initiatives (PSFI).
Meanwhile, Minister of Energy Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Mohd Hussein led a dialogue for EDPSGO and EDPMMO participants on the country’s plans and ongoing projects that contribute to the nation’s economy at the Design and Technology Building, Anggerek Desa.
The minister gave an overview of the energy sector in Brunei Darussalam during a session intended to provide the participants with a better understanding of the Ministry of Energy’s roles in terms of its contributions to economic growth and employment opportunities.
With the Sultanate’s future plans and spin-off opportunities, the minister also shared the initiatives taken by the ministry to address the unemployment issues in the country by generating job opportunities in the energy sector.
Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra and Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah also attended.
The dialogues were part of the EDPSGO and organised by the Public Service Department (JPA) in collaboration with UTB.
