Helping hand for Temburong’s converts

A convoy of 15 Jeep Owner Group Brunei (JOGB) members participated in an early morning ride to the Temburong District to distribute donations to over 40 convert families in Kampong Batang Duri, Sumbiling Lama and Sumbiling Baru, Sibut, Amo ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’, Parit, Semabat, Lepong Lama, Kenua, Rataie, Sibulu ‘B’ and Selapon.

The charity event held in collaboration with the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) was also joined by Goh Hock Kee (GHK) Motors Sdn Bhd and Bengawan Murni Beverages & Manufacturing (B) Sdn Bhd.

PDI Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh led the convoy whose initial meeting point was at the Islamic Da’wah Centre Temburong Branch. Haji Abdul Rajid lauded the generosity of the associations involved in the charity mission.

Assistant Director at PDI Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Kahar and Head of Muallaf Development Dr Hajah Rohanita binti Haji Yaakub also attended.

The convoy first visited 21 convert families in Jalan Batang Duri area and another 11 families in Jalan Bokok. The convoy then gathered at the Kampong Selapon Dakwah Post to distribute donations to another 11 families.

The PDI director and representatives from GHK Motors and JOGB presented the donations, contributed by JOGB members, GHK Motors and individuals including Frankie Goh.

The contributions were hoped to meet the converts’ daily needs and alleviate their burden.
