A total of 251 graduates received their degrees and diplomas awarded by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Chancellor of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) during its 10th Convocation Ceremony at the International Convention Centre in Berakas yesterday.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, Chief Syar’ie Judge Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar and Ra’es of KUPU SB Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar.
The 10th KUPU SB Convocation Ceremony proceeded with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the State Mufti, followed by the mass recitation of Surah Al-Muddatstsir Verses 1-16 by KUPU SB graduates. Its interpretation was read by Abdul Hadi Nasrullah bin Ashraf, a student of Bachelor Degree in Religious Teaching.
The ceremony continued with a titah delivered by His Majesty, who presented certificates of Master’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Postgraduate Diploma and Diploma to graduates.
Out of 251 graduates, one received Master’s Degree of Religious Teaching in Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama’ah Studies; 16 received Master’s Degree of Religious Teaching in Islamic Education; two received Master’s Degree of Religious Teaching in Usuluddin; 31 awarded with Postgraduate Diploma in Religious Teaching; six received Postgraduate Diploma in Religious Teaching (Arabic Language Teaching as a Second Language); two received Bachelor’s Degree of Religious Teaching in Islamic Education minoring in Dakwah and Leadership; 10 graduates received Bachelor’s Degree of Religious Teaching in Islamic Education with minor in Philosophy and Islamic Thinking; 13 awarded with Bachelor’s Degree of Religious Teaching with minor in Fiqh Usrah; 10 received Bachelor’s Degree of Religious Teaching with minor in Innovation and Islamic Education Technology; seven graduates awarded with Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Teaching with minor in Entrepreneurship in Islamic Education; 15 received Bachelor’s Degree of Religious Teaching minoring in Islamic Finance, 15 graduates were awarded Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Teaching with minor in Early Childhood Education; 15 received Bachelor’s Degree of Religious Teaching in Islamic Education minoring in Counselling and Guidance Education; 15 received Bachelor’s Degree of Religious Teaching in Islamic Education with minor in Special Education (Learning Problem); 14 graduated for Bachelor’s Degree of Religious Teaching in Islamic Education Minor in Melayu Islam Beraja Education; seven received Bachelor’s Degree of Religious Teaching in Islamic Education with minor in Health Science Education; two received Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Teaching with minor in Islamic Arts Education; 11 graduated in Bachelor’s Degree of Religious Teaching in Islamic Education minoring in Al-Quran and As-Sunnah Studies; 57 received Higher National Diploma of Religious Teaching in Islamic Education; and two received Diploma in Kitab Turath Studies.
The State Mufti read the Doa Selamat.
