Recitation of Surah Yaasiin and 40 Days Tahlil ceremonies were held at mosques across the nation for Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.
In the Belait District, the ceremony was held at the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque as the focal point for the ceremony. Belait District Officer Ramlee bin Haji Jamudin was the guest of honour.
Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Hanapi bin Mohd Siput, Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd (BSP) Commercial Director Haji Mohd Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, head representatives, officers and staff members from government departments and private agencies and residents from the surrounding area also attended.
The ceremony began with mass Maghrib prayer, followed by Sunnat Ba’diyyah Maghrib and Sunnat Hajat prayers led by Mosque Affairs Officer Imam Akop bin Haji Lamat.
This was followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil, followed by Doa Tahlil and mass Isyak prayer.
A similar ceremony was organised at the RPN Kampong Pandan Mosque in the Belait District.
Meanwhile in the Tutong District, the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque was the focal point for the 40 day Tahlil ceremony for Al-Marhum.
Acting District Officer Mohd Amirul Hadi bin Haji Mohd Tajudin was the guest of honour.
LegCo members Yang Berhormat Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong and Yang Berhormat Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit also attended.
The ceremony began with mass Maghrib prayer led by Imam of Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque Shahibul Omar bin Haji Yussof followed by Sunnat Ba’diyyah Maghrib prayer.
The recitation of Surah Yaasiin was led by Religious Affairs Officer Haji Masri bin Haji Mohamad and the Tahlil was read by Chief Religious Officer Haji Azman bin Haji Musa. The ceremony concluded with mass Isyak prayers.
A special Surah Yaasiin publication in memory of Al-Marhum was also distributed to congregants. The patterns decorating the special publication were inspired by the Kain Tenunan attire worn by Al-Marhum.
In the Temburong District, the ceremony took place at Utama Muhammad Salleh Mosque in Pekan Bangar. The ceremony was led by Imam of the mosque Norizam bin Zaini. Senior officers and staff of the government departments in Temburong District along with members of the public attended.
