Jab Gym looked set to bring more heart-revving energy to the upcoming Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam Youth Empowerment Summit (BIBD YES!) after the fitness centre became the latest addition to the line-up of partners for the Youth Empowerment Summit.

Three hundred and twenty youth from over 30 schools in Brunei are expected to participate in BIBD YES! which will take place at Jerudong International School (JIS) on December 12 and nine other venues on December 13.

Bestowed with the title of Wellness Partner, Jab Gym will be taking on three central roles for the BIBD YES!

First, the centre will be responsible for turning up the energy at the JIS auditorium by deploying its trainer Najib Rafie to lead the warm-up routine at each of the four intervals of the summit with bursting exercises to stretch the participants’ muscles and keep up the momentum of the conference in high spirit.

Secondly, on day two, it will be one of the nine participating organisations opening up their doors for the programme’s breakout classes.

A total of 25 youth from the summit will be invited to experience Jab Gym’s luminary facility exposing them to the physical experience of training and exercise while being briefed on the importance of diet and nutrition to pave the way for a healthier lifestyle.

Titled ‘Jab Jab Jab Right Hook: How to Win in Life Through Boxing’, the breakout class at Jab Gym will also explore the deeper philosophy behind boxing and success in professional athletes in instilling the value of discipline, commitment and hard work that are pivotal to their future success.

According to Jab Gym’s Fitness Manager Marilyn Yap, “The class is one of the many initiatives that we will roll out to make an impact in the youth community. We are really excited to be a Wellness Partner for the BIBD YES! and part of our ‘make an impact’ statement is to make an impact; everything starts from when we are little. It is important to encourage our youth to keep active to ensure an active mind. So we are very excited to be part of the programme”.

BIBD Chief Marketing Officer and BIBD YES! Host Sponsor spokesperson Hajah Nurul Akmar binti Haji Mohd Jaafar also lauded that the significance of Jab Gym’s involvement in complimenting the goal of BIBD YES! is to provide the youth with a holistic learning experience.

BIBD YES! will feature 45 speakers, including nine international speakers dialing in on Zoom to educate and inspire the youth with the theme ‘It’s Your Turn!’, charging our youth to step up and take leadership without waiting for permission.

The summit will be broadcast live to 24 schools across Brunei and end with a two-kilometre fun run from Sungai Kebun Bridge to The Horizons Seafood Restaurant, where eight of the Cabinet Ministers will join in for a networking session with the youth to learn about their aspirations for the future.

BIBD YES! is supported by Host Sponsor – BIBD, Platinum Sponsor – Progresif, Gold Sponsors – CIC Environmental Services and TOTAL as well as Silver Sponsor – Brunei LNG.

The event is endorsed by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Education and Brunei Tourism.
