Eighty-nine Thai citizens and other nationalities yesterday boarded a special repatriation flight to Bangkok, through a special arrangement between the Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam and Royal Brunei Airlines (RB).

RB flight BI519 departed from the Brunei International Airport at 10.55am and arrived safely at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 12.40pm (local time).

This is the fifth special repatriation flight arranged by the Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam; the first was on June 20, while the fourth and most recent was on October 14.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam Wanthanee Viputwongsakul was at the airport to see off the returning Thai citizens.

The Thai ambassador also distributed care bags containing travel necessities such as face masks, hand sanitiser and a packed lunch for the passengers.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam extended appreciation to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Immigration and National Registration Department, the Department of Civil Aviation and the RB for their assistance in the arrangement of the special flight.
