The State Mufti’s Office at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) launched two new titles – Dirgahayu Raja Kita and its translation ‘Long Live Our King’ yesterday.

State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the author, attended the launch.

The book contains a special State Mufti interview with Radio Television Brunei (RTB) in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 73rd birthday, and a special talk in conjunction with the monarch 74th birthday.

The book also depicts His Majesty’s concern for the welfare of the people across various aspects, including administration, security, economy, education and charities.

According to the State Mufti, it is not prohibited to mention virtue in the form of a person’s good deeds and pious acts. In certain circumstances, when such deeds are mentioned, it can bring intercession or help to the person who owns the charity.

Therefore, it is of great benefit to list the monarch’s charitable deeds, because they have the status of leadership and a role model to emulate. Charity is very much loved by Allah the Almighty, and Allah the Almighty commands that every blessing be mentioned always, he said.

As the world faces the COVID-19 pandemic, with the Sultanate not spared, the State Mufti said the monarch expresses concerns over all matters related to the pandemic. The ruler provides encouragement and guidance in facing the health crisis.

The book also discusses how His Majesty strongly emphasises that supplications and Al-Quran be used in fighting the pandemic.

Among others, His Majesty in a titah said, “I would like to recommend that we all practise reading Surah Yaasiin and other surahs in Al-Quran, because the Surah has many benefits for our safety in this world and the hereafter. Insya Allah, thanks to the practice, COVID-19 will leave us and the country.“

“This is where the advantages of our ruler as the supreme leader of this country are reflected. The monarch’s care for the welfare of his people cannot be measured, and is continuous,” said the State Mufti.
