Seventy underprivileged children received donations, comprising cash and vouchers, contributed by Al-Afiah Hotel, Cafe Al-Afiah and Mirra Hanna Employment Agency, ahead of the upcoming new school term yesterday.
Forty of the recipients were registered under the Medical Social Work of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital while 20 children from Brunei Council on Social Welfare (MKM), and 10 were children of staff at Al-Afiah Hotel.
Al-Afiah Hotel Chairperson Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mohd Yusof said that such charitable act is aimed at lifting financial burden of the underprivileged in their preparation for the school term next year.
This is an annual community and welfare activity for the underprivileged.
