There are no easy paths to success; it can only be achieved through hardwork and determination.
This was said by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin in his speech during the Youth Development Centre (PPB) Convocation Ceremony yesterday.
The minister added that there is no reason for graduates, equipped with skills learned, to shy away from challenges that allow them to move to a new direction.
He also emphasised on moral values to form an identity as “Knowledge without morals certainly does not have any meaning.
“Therefore, believe in yourself, exercise patience and remember, all the efforts and hardwork do start from the bottom up in order to progress to the next level,” said the minister. “Our only hope is for you to be brave and never back down from challenging yourself to being the best. Remember today is not the end but it is the beginning of
a journey.”
At the same time, the minister said, what is important is the support of each party through the whole-of-nation approach to ensure that graduates are given the opportunity to achieve greatness, to which he commended the PPB and welcomed the steps taken in increasing the number of graduates.
The minister also called for continuous cooperation with strategic partners including the Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC), the Manpower Industry Steering Committee (MISC), JobCentre Brunei, Life-Long Learning Centre under the Ministry of Education and other industry parties in producing marketable graduates who are employable, capable of running an enterprise, or are equipped for former studies.
The minister added that initiatives should continue to be the focus on high demand courses such as butchery, barber and sewing with the aim of introducing heavy vehicle driver training in the near future.
“With this direction, I am very confident that every PPB graduate will be at the peak of success, achieving their respective and consecutively achieving the goals of national Vision 2035,” he said.
The minister also congratulated the 285 graduates for successfully completing their courses.
