THE Destinasi Tutong Tourism Management Company recently introduced its ‘Walimatul Urus Destinasi Tutong’ wedding package, as a strategic step to promote the heritage of the district’s ethnic communities.
Special Duties Officer and Head of the Corporate Section at the Tutong District Office, Siti Joriahati binti Johari, explained that the wedding package incorporates professional photography, traditional dance performances, wedding presents and catering services from the One Village, One Product (1K1P) scheme, as well as the Mukim and village consultative councils (MPMK) initiative.
“It is really a complete package, provided by various members from the local communities,” she said.
The enterprise is intended to create socio-economic benefits for the district’s communities, while helping to preserve their rich traditions and customs.
The ‘Walimatul Urus Destinasi Tutong’ package is also catered to suit current styles and tastes, providing services with a difference during wedding ceremonies.
To lend an aesthetic touch, it even includes cultural performances from the Dusun, Tutong, Kedayan, Iban and Chinese community members.
Products and services are actually supplied through three complete packages – Seri Simpur, Seri Teratai and Seri Orkid.
The Tutong District Tourism Promotion and Coordination Body, which also works together with tour operators and tourism providers, hopes that the enterprise will enhance Tutong as a popular destination.
‘Walimatul Urus Destinasi Tutong’ is currently being promoted at the ongoing Food Con festival, which is held in the Petani Mall.
