New ‘Temburong Holiday Destination’ packages now available

MEMBERS of the public who are making holiday plans to travel this December can consider Temburong as a preferred holiday destination following the launch of the three days and two nights Temburong holiday packages.

The ‘Temburong Holiday Destination’ packages were launched yesterday by the guest of honour, Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, at the ministry’s Setia Pahlawan Hall.

The eight unique packages were developed through a joint collaboration by the Tourism Development Department with the Temburong District Office and Temburong Tour Operators.

The new packages primarily target the upcoming December school holiday period.

Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali in his remarks said, “Various choices of holiday packages have been developed and put together by the ministry and our Temburong tourism product and service providers namely Ulu Ulu Resort, Freme Rainforest Lodge, Trandie Marina Resort, Sumbiling Eco Village, Borneo Trekker and AZ Back to Nature offer competitive prices for tourists ranging from premium, family, cultural and adventure packages.”

“Temburong’s well preserved nature and ecosystem remain its key selling points as a tourism destination which is home to various local ethnicities and culture. The hospitable people, peacefulness, tranquility and clean environment that is free from traffic makes Temburong a well-suited family holiday destination,” said the minister.

In the effort to develop Temburong, he highlighted that “the ministry has been working very closely with our stakeholders in Temburong especially the Temburong District Office as well as the product and service providers and local communities to create attractive holiday packages catered to all age groups”.

“We also went to great lengths to ensure that the packages will have high levels of quality and safety as well as supreme comfort and efficiency in terms of services provided for tourists,” he added.

The minister strongly urged all tourism stakeholders, travel agents, airlines, boat operators, accommodation providers and local communities to step up and work together in building Temburong as a preferred holiday destination.

The eight unique packages to choose from include the Camp Site experience at Freme Rainforest Lodge and AZ Back to Nature, Discover Nature at Ulu Ulu Resort and Stoneville Hotel, cultural experience at Sumbiling Eco Village and Iban Longhouse, fun in Temburong at Sumbiling Eco Village and Stoneville Hotel, expedition Temburong at Ulu Ulu Resort and Freme Rainforest Lodge, Sumbiling Ulu Special at Sumbiling Eco Village and Ulu-Ulu Resort, Temburong Splendor at Stoneville Hotel and Freme Rainforest Lodge as well as the tropical retreat at Ulu Ulu Resort and Trandie Marina Resorts.

The Temburong holiday packages also include a selection of adventure activities such as kayaking, flying fox, jungle trekking as well as cultural activities and visits to traditional longhouses to experience the true hospitality of the Iban culture.
