With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, a Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) senior officer was promoted to the rank of ‘First Admiral’ effective yesterday.
The ceremony for 359 Captain Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji RBAF Chief of Staff took place at the Officers’ Mess at Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.
The insignia presentation ceremony was led by Commander of the RBAF Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat.
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, permanent secretary, services commanders, deputy permanent secretary and acting deputy permanent secretary, commandants, directors and family members of the officer were also present.
The ceremony was also blessed with a Doa Selamat by Acting Head of RBAF Religious Department (JAMA’AT) Major Ariffin bin Amit.
