Employees Trust Fund (TAP), through the TAP Enforcement Unit continued its roadshow for 175 newly registered employers at the Theatre Hall, Ministry of Finance and Economy Building recently.
The roadshow was part of TAP’s efforts to inform employers on their responsibilities in managing employees who are eligible to be registered under TAP and SCP schemes.
It is mandatory for employees including part-time employees, contract employees, daily-paid employees and employees on probation who are citizens and permanent residents of Brunei Darussalam to be registered and contribute to the TAP and SCP schemes.
Offenders who fail to pay TAP and SCP contributions within the prescribed time are liable to a BND3,000 fine for the first offence and no more than BND10,000 for second and subsequent offences under Section 26 of the Employees Trust Act (Chapter 167) and Section 29 of the Supplemental Pensions Trust Order 2009.
The session continued with a sharing session on the application of TAP’s online service, e-Amanah. For every new company registration via the Registry of Companies and Business Names (ROCBN), the company will be automatically registered to e-Amanah.
