Hundreds of photographs are being exhibited at the Belait District Museum, showcasing over 100 photographs by diplomatic missions in Brunei Darussalam.
The ‘Brunei Darussalam from the Eyes of Foreign Diplomats and their Families’ photo exhibition was launched yesterday by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.
The photo exhibition highlights the everyday life and times of a nation through the eyes of foreign envoys. It is also held in appreciation of the relations and a show of gratitude by foreign diplomats to the government and the people of Brunei Darussalam.
Organised by the Diplomatic Corps comprising 19 diplomatic missions accredited to Brunei Darussalam, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), the exhibit is open from yesterday until January 7, 2021, from 9am to 2pm except Monday and Friday.
Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel bin Rashed bin Hashel Al-Maskari presented a photo album to Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan.Diplomatic Corp members, heads and representatives of nations as well as private agencies based in the Belait District were also present.
The photo exhibit will make its next stop at the BIBD Heritage Branch in Temburong District on January 9, 2021; and at the Tourist Information Centre in the Tutong District on January 23, 2021.
