SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd (SCTSB), a foreign direct investment company in Brunei and a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, sponsored a snorkelling activity and marine conservation programme with orphans, as part of their contribution to Brunei’s sustainable development through economic, social and environmental benefits.
The snorkelling session was organised by Poni Divers at Pelong Rock, also known as the legendary Pulau Pilong-Pilongan.
Thirty orphans registered under Community Development Department (JAPEM) and Mengkubau Volunteer Community received first-hand experience of Brunei’s marine life and corals. A marine conservation workshop was also conducted to create awareness on protecting the environment and marine life.
SCTSB representatives were led by its General Manager Philip Grant.
The event concluded with the orphans receiving gift vouchers for school supplies for the new academic year.
