The ambassador said, “This is the second time the Royal Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam organised the Thailand Bazaar at OneCity Shopping Centre. The first Thailand Bazaar was held last August as part of our annual trade fair project to promote economic and tourism cooperation as well as people-to-people relations between Thailand and Brunei Darussalam. It was a huge success with an estimated 10,000 visitors for the three-day event.”
She added the embassy has been working closely with OneCity Shopping Centre to ensure that social distancing measures are followed. Organised as part of the Brunei December Festival 2020, the ambassador said, “It is normally the period when many families travel abroad including to Thailand as one of the favourite destinations. However, with travel restrictions still in place, we hope that this bazaar can bring Thailand closer to you instead.”
A total of 12 vendors including from the Royal Thai Embassy are participating in the
Thailand Bazaar.
“We have gathered Thai businesses selling mostly food and beverages that are well-known such as papaya salad, miang kham, sticky rice and Thai tea. The vendors are all Thais so we can assure our visitors an authentic taste of Thailand. I welcome everyone to visit us.”
Following the launch, Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan also presented prizes to lucky draw winners and toured the bazaar.
