Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) welcomed 457 students for the January 2020/2021 intake with 43 PhD students, 157 Master students, 277 undergraduates, 19 UniBridge students and 11 Diploma students in the opening of its Freshers’ Week yesterday.

This year’s UBD Freshers’ Week, held virtually and physically, will conclude on January 7.

Yesterday’s event began with a special address by UBD Vice-Chancellor Datin Dr Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz.

The UBD Freshers’ Week is organised by the Student Affairs Section with support from the Students Representative Council and volunteers, to welcome first-year undergraduate and graduate students to the UBD community.

Students can access information such as briefing on GenNEXT programme, Brunei Government scholarship, module registration, examination, faculties, university’s safety and security.

Today will see each faculty introducing students to programme leaders and faculty members as well as the programme’s modules.

The UBD Freshers Week will end with a Bicara Ulum, Doa Selamat and mass Asar prayer at UBD Mosque.
