A total of 188 Year 7 and Year 8 students from Awang Semaun Secondary School attended a programme, ‘Our King, Appreciating the National Flag and National Anthem’, at the school library, organised by the Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office through the Nationhood Unit of the Nationhood and Community Division.
Acting Assistant Information Officer Zurairah binti Haji Lisa, in her briefing, highlighted the procedures in hoisting the national flag and the history of the national anthem, Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
The programme aimed to instil dedication to the religion, sovereignty and country as well as strengthen patriotism among the students.
The programme featured video presentations on Kibarkanlah Dengan Megah Bendera Negara and Semarak Pengibaran Bendera Negara as well as an animated clip on the procedures on national flag hoisting.
A quiz was also held, and prizes presented to the winners.
