Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam, Royal Patron of the Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam (PPPBD) consented to grace the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at Royal Berkshire Hall of Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong yesterday.
Accompanying Her Majesty were Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah binti Dato Haji Nasir; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam.
The royal arrival was greeted by PPPBD Chief Commissioner Hajah Siti Hafsah binti Haji Abdul Halim.
Three groups of Khatam participants comprising the governing committee council, adult and young leaders, ranger girl guides and girl guides who completed 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran participated in the ceremony.
It began with the recitation of Al-Quran verses followed by Takhtim recitation led by Nurul Fatin binti Abi and Nor Sabrina binti Ratna, Young Leaders PPPBD from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), who also led Doa Khatam.
Doa Hari Kebangsaan Brunei Darussalam and Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Brunei Darussalam were led by PPPBD Spiritual Commissioner Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Abdul Ghani.
PPPBD organised the event to enliven the 37th National Day celebration with religious activities, while inculcating Al-Quran recitation culture among its members.
Vice Presidents of Lifelong PPPBD namely Datin Paduka Hajah Zaharah binti Haji Idris, Datin Paduka Hajah Jusnani binti Haji Lawie and Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohd Ali, and PPPBD Deputy Chief Commissioner Hajah Viviyanti binti Haji Ali were also present.
