THE National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) has called participants who have just completed the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Goalkeeping Level 1 Coaching Course to share their knowledge to their respective teams or at the school level and association as well as to identify and produce goalkeepers of high calibre.

NFABD recognise the dearth of goalkeepers in clubs adding that it is possible that players are only voluntarily filling in the positions.

“Touching on the course, I find it is timely the Football Development Department (FDD) organised courses such as this because we are aware that there is a shortage of goalkeeping coaches”, said Haji Meramit bin Haji Damit, Executive Committee member of NFABD during the closing ceremony at NFABD House yesterday.

Haji Meramit added that there is the urgency to meet current needs of having goalkeeping coaches who obtained a coaching certificate which is recognised both regionally and internationally.

“Therefore, I urged the participants who have completed the course not only to be satisfied with this course but also to be as determined with similar courses which is at an even more advanced stage in the regional level let alone in the international level”, he added.
