Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) and its group of companies celebrated 243 of its staff for their length of service and contributions.
A Service Awards Ceremony was held at the Tarindak d’Seni in the capital on Saturday to honour the long-serving employees – some who had dedicated up to 35 years of their career at the bank.
Deputy Managing Director of the BIBD Group Hajah Noraini binti Haji Sulaiman said in a speech during the ceremony told staff: “Your commitment towards delivering the best over the years has surely contributed to the success of BIBD Group, ensuring that we were able to achieve our mission of being First Choice Bank, and now, moving forward to become the Best Islamic Bank in Asia-Pacific.
“I am extremely proud of the resilience and commitment that has been shown by our entire BIBD family, who came together in the face of uncertainty, adapting admirably to this new normal during these unprecedented times.
“Especially during the COVID-19 outbreak all our employees continued to show courage dedication and care with a true ‘Bruneian at Heart’ spirit which embodies our Core Values, to serve on the frontline and ensure that we continued to serve the needs of our
customers.”
Also participating as his capacity as Chairman of the BIBD Group was Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah. The minister presented the award to employees who had completed 30 and 35 years of service.
Meanwhile, Managing Director for Strategic Development Capital Fund of the Investment Division at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Junaidi bin Haji Masri, and Acting Managing Director of Brunei Investment Agency Haji Sofian bin Mohammad Jani who were present as members of the BIBD Group Board of Directors, presented the awards to employees who completed 25, 20 and 15 working years.
