PROGRESIF Cellular Sdn Bhd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) to establish a strategic relationship to foster collaboration in the areas of education, innovation, research and development.
The signing ceremony took place yesterday at the Faculty of Integrated Technologies Building, UBD and was attended by Progressif Cellular Chief Marketing Officer Devin Edwards, Head of Product Development Radi El Fassed, Head of Human Capital Administration Fauzi Mosdaram as well as Government Relationship Manager Normah Ahmad. Representing UBD at the ceremony were Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) of UBD Chair Professor David Koh and Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) Associate Professor Dr Mohd Ayub Sadiq.
In an interview, Devin Edwards spoke of the collaboration between Progresif and UBD such as creating access for the students to the working environment, and working alongside experts in the telecommunications and Information Technology industry.
A number of projects are already in discussion on innovation and commercialisation activities in relation to technology, inventions and patents from UBD, he added.
Progresif is also in the process of building a Start-Up Lab Incubator within its new corporate headquarters to help stimulate entrepreneurship and further diversify the economy.
