Brunei Darussalam detected a new imported COVID-19 case yesterday. The man arrived in the country from Indonesia via Singapore on February 22. The national tally of confirmed cases now stands at 190.
With the latest imported case, five active cases receiving treatment at the National Isolation Centre in the Tutong District are in a stable condition.
The Ministry of Health (MoH) revealed details in its daily release on the COVID-19 situation in the country yesterday.
Case 190 is a 42-year-old man. Contact tracing is ongoing.
Brunei Darussalam recorded 305 days with no local COVID-19 transmissions.
Meanwhile, the MoH has obtained 539 samples for SARS-CoV-2 virus testing over the past 24 hours, and 106,972 have carried out tests since January 2020.
Six hundred and sixty-four individuals are undergoing mandatory self-isolation at government monitoring centres after arriving from abroad while 14,321 have completed their stint since March 2020.
Healthinfo.gov.bn revealed that there have been 155 cases in Brunei-Muara District, 29 in Belait District and six in Tutong District.
