THE newly re-vamped SupaKart in Jerudong Park Playground opened its doors to the public yesterday during a soft launching ceremony where special guests had the opportunity to try the latest attraction.

Students from Saiyyidina Husain Secondary School and their guardians were invited to be the first members of the public to enjoy the Supakart that will operate in Brunei’s largest specifically built Go Kart track.

Senior Manager of Jerudong Park Country Club (JPCC) Jeff Hadiman bin Dato Haji Danial in his speech said apart from new custom-built Go Karts the Supakart area also features two newly resurfaced tracks (F1 and F2), a new F1 track that is of international racing standards, a brand new logo and design, and newly refurbished function rooms and building.

“This new attraction will definitely help Jerudong Park continue on its path, its vision of being the premier tourist in Brunei Darussalam and best known family attraction in all of Borneo,” Jeff added.

There are two types of new karts provided which are ‘Bandit’ and ‘Le Mans’. The sporty single-seater ‘Bandit’ is designed for simplicity of operation without compromising driver appeal and stringent safety features while the ‘Le Mans’ is a more family friendly two-seater sports racer that has been produced to maximise customer potential for racing fun.

JPCC is also having a two-week promotion starting September 8, offering discounted family packages for parents to bring their kids out during this second term school holiday.

As an added bonus for customers, JPCC will be providing shuttle bus services from two different stops at the food court area to the playground, and from the Playground Colonnade to the brand new Supakart area.

The SupaKart will be part of the ‘All-Rides’ entry ticket, where customers can also enjoy other attractions including the Musical Fountain and the popular Waterpark, as well as the Mini-Golf course and Laser Maze.

JPCC recently noted that the park received positive response for the Musical Fountain since its re-opening last month at the Jerudong Park Garden with around 10,000 people on its first opening weekend and it has seen a constant flow of numbers ever since.

Jerudong Park Playground has received over half a million local and foreign visitors, since its re-opening in May 2014, according to previous reports.
