The Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held an Israk Mikraj celebration for 1442 Hijrah at Surau Ad-Difa’, Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.
This year’s theme follows the national-level’s Sembahyang Teras Kecemerlangan Umat (Prayer is the Core towards the Excellence of Ummah).
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof attended.
Commander of the RBAF Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Permanent Secretary at the MinDef, as well as personnel from MinDef and RBAF were also present. Legislative Council member and Acting Village Head of Kampong Jaya Setia and Kampong Burong Pingai Yang Berhormat Haji Mohimin bin Haji Johari @ Jahari was an invited guest.
The ceremony opened with the recitation of Surah Al-Ma’idah led by Muhammad Nur Amin bin Haji Jali, a religious teacher from the RBAF Religious Department (Jama’at). The event continued with a special talk by Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak from Al-Minhaaj Centre. Similar events were also held across all suraus at RBAF garrisons, camps and bases.
