The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tabled a budget of BND431,520,380 for the fiscal year 2021-2020, with focus on developing the socio-economic resilience to assure the welfare and security of the people in the long run, Minister at the PMO Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud said on the third day of the 17th Legislative Council (LegCo) session yesterday.
In boosting national productivity, he touched on current and future programmes including the audit of human capital resources in the public service.
“It aims to evaluate the human resource needs and inculcate leadership development, and ensure an optimal workforce for organisation excellence,” he said.
He shared a project to introduce the Government Human Resource Management System (GHRMS) to fully replace the human resource management system in all ministries to enhance productivity and efficiency of the management of the public sector. To expedite recruitment processes, he said the PSC Recruitment System will be upgraded and integrated with JobCentre Brunei to become a single window national recruitment portal.
In the provision of sustainable and resilient facilities, he said the PMO with the National Council on Social Issues, together with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports will introduce the Brunei Darussalam Social Blueprint which aims to guide the direction towards effective social policies that will fulfil the people’s basic needs and equal access and opportunities towards a high quality life, in line one of the objectives of the national Vision 2035.
In generating competent and employable human capital, he mentioned that the Manpower Planningand Employment Council (MPEC) through the JobCentre Brunei is actively making efforts to reach their strategic plans in boosting local jobseeker recruitments in all sectors to reduce the employment rate which is steadily declining.
Parliament members yesterday voted to pass the bill for the PMO’s budget for the fiscal year 2021-2022.
