imagine to offer better cybersecurity

Imagine Sdn Bhd (imagine)’s partnership with Ensign Infosecurity is the beginning of the telco’s efforts to introduce new technology and services as Brunei makes it way towards realising Brunei Vision 2035 and Digital Economy Masterplan 2025.

This was underscored by imagine Information Technology Vice President Radziman Rahman at a press conference at The Empire Brunei in Jerudong.

Radziman said imagine is now better positioned to cater to the needs of Brunei’s development especially in cybersecurity. The partnership is exciting as their cybersecurity services is needed to digitise the economy and day-to-day life.

Joining the press conference online from Singapore was Ensign InfoSecurity International Business and Consulting Executive Vice President Charles Ng. He said Ensign is excited to be able to partner with imagine to offer this world class services in Brunei.

“Since our formation we have been investing in our clients in Brunei. We are excited about this partnership and expanding our presence.”

Ng said cybersecurity has become a competitive advantage as transactions are increasingly going digital. Cybersecurity will allow greater and deeper digital transformation.

Ng said several key efforts include raising cybersecurity awareness; having the right tools and technology to monitor, detect and understand; to see these things from the enterprise level; and having the right cyber experts.

Cybersecurity is a global issue and the recent hack of WhatsApp is a demonstration of that.

Radziman said imagine wants to position itself as the country’s preferred telco. It is always on the lookout for what’s next and forges partnerships locally and internationally.

“As one of the telco providers, we have the responsibility to introduce new technology complemented by our customer care service. We hope to develop more partnerships and Ensign is just the first of many,” he said.

InfoSecurity Ensign International Business Development Director Jimmy Chan was also present.

Ensign InfoSecurity, based in Singapore, is the largest pure-play end-to-end cybersecurity service provider in Asia offering bespoke solutions and services to address their clients’ cyber-security needs.

Their core competencies are in the provision of cybersecurity advisory and assurance services, architecture design and systems integration services, and managed security services for advanced threat detection, threat hunting, and incident response. Underpinning these competencies are in-house research and development in cybersecurity.
