His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon received in audience Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore Dr Vivian Balakrishnan who is in the country on a one-day visit.
During the audience ceremony, His Majesty and the minister discussed bilateral and regional issues of mutual importance to both countries. In addition, the minister expressed Singapore’s full support to Brunei as ASEAN Chair in 2021 towards collectively achieving the intended deliverables.
Accompanying the minister were High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam Heng Aik Yeow and Second Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore Stanley Loh.
Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof was also present
The audience ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
