A late-night car crash in the Belait District left one person dead and two others injured, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said.
The Sungai Liang Police Station received a report at 12.30am yesterday regarding the accident at Jalan Tunggulian, Sungai Liang.
The vehicle was travelling from Kampong Sungai Liang towards the Tutong District, when it veered out of control and hit a road sign, the RBPF said. The three people inside the car were rushed to the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital. One passenger, a 21-year-old woman, was pronounced dead from injuries to the head, neck, chest and spine.
The driver and the second passenger are being treated for injuries.
The RBPF urged motorists to stay alert while driving, and ensure that passengers are wearing seat belts.
Motorists are also advised to adhere to the speed limits and refrain from using mobile phones while on the road.
