Kampong Rambai sets village head

Muhammad Dahalan bin Kaslan, 53, a retired member of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), with the rank of Warrant Officer 1, was chosen as the village head of Kampong Rambai, in elections held on Friday

A total of 173 villagers, from the 195 registered, cast their votes at the Rambai Primary School hall.

Prior to the voting, Acting Tutong District Officer and Chairman of the Council Ajmin bin Haji Meludin said that village residents are recommended to carry out their responsibilities by voting, to ensure their voices will be heard.

This was followed with a speech by Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit.

The villagers also listened to a briefing on selection and voting procedures by Special Duties Officer Level II, Head of the Mukim and Kampong Institution Division of the Tutong District Office Mohammad Adi Asnawi bin Adanan.

Out of the total number of voters, 164 voted for, eight voted against and one vote was invalid.

The results will be further processed by the Board of Appointments, Discipline and Procedures for Mukim Penghulus and Village Heads at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA).
