His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam visited the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) at Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.
Accompanying His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; and His Royal Highness 920 Captain (U) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Commander Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat.
Right after, His Majesty received the royal salute and inspected the guard of honour comprising five officers and 105 other rank personnel of Company D, Third Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Force (3Bn RBLF) led by parade commander Major Harensuhandy bin Haji Abdullah from Unit Tugas Pengawal Diraja.
His Majesty was then ushered to the Tower Block and consented to a photo session with members of the Defence Executive Committee and RBAF senior officers before proceeding to the Bolkiah Garrison’s Gymnasium, where a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat were read by Head of RBAF Religious Department Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN).
His Majesty then delivered a titah in the presence of RBAF officers.
The visit ended at the Bolkiah Garrison Officers’ Mess where His Majesty consented to a meet and greet session with RBAF senior officers from Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Navy, Royal Brunei Air Force, Joint Force Headquarters, Training Institute RBAF, Defence Academy RBAF, MinDef, British Loan Service officers and Republic of Pakistan Loan Service Doctors.
His Majesty then received a pesambah and signed the royal parchment.
