OVER 800 participants of the ‘Run for the Kids’ charity run crossed the finish line at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas to raise funds for the Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA).
The charity event, organised by Creads Design and Printing, set out to show support for the children of kaca as well as raise funds for the centre to provide training and guidance programmes.
The support could be seen yesterday through the participation of runners in three different categories: 10-kilometre, 5-kilometre and 2.5-kilometre.
The event began with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Haji Samsor bin Haji Ismail, followed by a warm-up session headed by members of the Fitness Session of Jerudong Park Medical Centre.
The event was flagged off by KACA Managing Director Haji Abdul Alim bin Haji Othman.
In first place for the 10-kilometre run in the male category was Sefli Ahar with 35.09 minutes, while Vanessa Loh came in first in the female category with 43.52 minutes.
Muhd Qamarul Ariffin Hifni came in first place for the 5-kilometre run in the male category with 20.17 minutes and Yenny Muslim won the female category with 23.21 minutes.
Azizi bin Haji Azman came in first place for the 2.5-kilometre run in the male category with 17.37 minutes, while the female category was won by Nurul Fadzreena binti Latip with 18.27 minutes.
