A DELEGATION from the Brunei-US English Language Enrichment Project for Asean had an enjoyable experience yesterday, visiting several places of interests in the Tutong District.
First on the list was a visit to the Tutong District Office, which also houses ‘1K1P Gallery’ that features over 30 items from the ‘One Village, One Product’ development project of Mukim and Village Consultative Council.
This followed with a photo opportunity at the Commemorative Monument landmark, and the serving of refreshments.
Later, welcoming remarks were delivered by an official from Tutong Destination, which is a body affiliated with the Tutong District Office to promote Tutong as a destination.
After visiting 1K1P Gallery, the visitors watched a Tausyeh presentation and observed a Jawi-writing demonstration.
The delegation then made its way to the Tutong District Ethnic Model Houses at Sungai Basong Recreational Park. They visited several ethnic model houses, each of which had different activities for visitors to experience.
At the Kedayan House, the delegation learnt about traditional games and how to make the ‘Kelupis Sulang.’
At the Chinese Hut, they experienced a Chinese calligraphy demonstration, while the Dusun House offered them a taste of Sandaman traditional music, handicraft-making and traditional herbal tea.
Meanwhile, at the Iban House, the delegation experienced a long house tour, Najat dance as well as a blow pipe demonstration and challenge.
Next was a trip to the Suria Catering Hall at Kampong Panchor Papan for lunch and a traditional music performance.
The afternoon saw the delegation embarking on a tour of the Tasbee Meliponiculture Farm in Kampong Sungai Kelugos, which included honey harvesting.
The last part of their visit was to the Agarwood production area at Cahaya Gaharu Plantation in Kampong Bukit Panggal, where the delegation toured the plantation and factory.
