PEHIN Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education; Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs; and Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs were amongst the golfers who participated in the Terima Kasih Cikgu Golf Championship, which started yesterday at the Royal Brunei Airlines Golf Club in Berakas.
The Ministry of Education through the Co-Curriculum Education organised the tournament in conjunction with the 26th Teacher’s Day Celebration 2016 on October 21-23.
The championship is open to employees and former employees of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs and other guests.
A total of 40 golfers competed yesterday divided into six categories – VIP (minsters, former ministers, deputy ministers, former deputy ministers, Syarie chief judge, permanent secretaries, ambassadors and high Commissioners, vice chancellors, rektor, rais and deputy permanent secretaries; Invited Guests; Sponsors; Senior (66 years old and above); Division A (handicap 0-10); Division B (Handicap 11-18); and Division C (Handicap 19-24).
The main aim of the tournament is to liven up the 26th Teacher’s Day Celebration through sports activities and enhance relationships amongst serving ministrial members, former members and retirees.
