THE closing ceremony for the ‘Bicara Sejarah: Pengkajian Inskripsi Makam dan Batu Nisan Bersejarah di Brunei Darussalam’ project was held yesterday at the Jawatan Dalam Hall of the Brunei History Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan.

The guest of honour was Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Pengiran Hajah Mahani binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad, Acting Deputy Principal at the Brunei History Centre, who was the event chairperson, said this project was held for the first time by the Research and Documentation Section of the Brunei History Centre in order to increase understanding of the rich heritage of the topic among the current and future generations.

“The project also aims to attract participants to conduct research, interpretation, re-evaluation or further evaluation on the heritage so it can be a source of reference,” she said.
