UNIVERSITI Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) yesterday expanded its cooperation and collaboration with Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Bukit Tinggi, Western Sumatera, Indonesia with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
UNISSA was represented by its Rector, Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, while IAIN Bukit Tinggi University was represented by its rector, Dr Ridha Ahida.
The MoU ensures cooperation between both universities involving academicians, student exchange programmes, knowledge sharing, seminars and symposium, research and also short-term courses.
Prior to the signing, the UNISSA Rector welcomed the delegation from IAIN Bukit Tinggi, and expressed hopes the event would lead the way towards realising the success of future plans.

The day also saw both rectors witnessing the signing of Letter of Intent between the Director of Postgraduate Centre of UNISSA, Dr Hajah Rasinah binti Haji Ahim, with the Postgraduate Programme Director of IAIN Bukit Tinggi, Dr Ismail, M Ag.
Also present during the ceremony were Deputy Rector of UNISSA, Dr Haji Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad, Assistant Rector of UNISSA Dr Arman bin Haji Asmad, along with UNISSA officials comprising faculty deans and centre-directors.
