THE National Religious Programme for religious and Arabic schools for the month of November themed ‘Cleanliness is the Core for the Welfare of the Ummah’, took place yesterday.
The event was held in participating religious and Arabic schools nationwide, and aimed to generate a sense of awareness that pertained to cleanliness, an obligatory characteristic in Islam.
One of the participating schools was the Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School, where the students attended a Tazkirah session presented by Ustazah Hajah Aniah binti Haji Awang.
The recitation of Surah Al-Waqi’ah was led by Abdul Hafiz bin Haji Kadirosman, Head of Religious and Character. The ‘Doa Peperiksaan’ and ‘Doa Peliharakan Sultan’ was read by Dr Haji Serbini, Head of Al-Quran and Hadith Section, Student Council.
The Tazkirah session placed its focus on self-hygiene and the cleanliness in places of prayer, the home as well as public places. Every individual in a community are responsible for the cleanliness within these surroundings and places, and to have that passion for cleanliness that also include places such as schools.
The Tazkirah session commenced at 8am for all Arabic schools and religious schools for the morning session, whilst for the afternoon session, Tazkirah began at 2pm. Among the participating schools in the media’s focus included Pengiran Anak Puteri Besar Religious School Kampong Peramu in the Brunei-Muara District, Sinaut Religious School in the Tutong District, Sungai Taring Religious School, Lumut in the Belait District and Bokok Religious School in the Temburong District.
