ISSUES on improving the health system were highlighted during a dialogue session yesterday between the Ministry of Health (MoH) and stakeholders in the Temburong District, covering aspects of hygiene, quality and access to safe healthcare services.
Held at the Bumiputera Complex in Temburong District, the dialogue is the latest in a series of discussions across all four districts. It is an initiative by the MoH to establish further cooperation with the relevant stakeholders, and to increase the efficiency of the current healthcare system.
The session began with a recitation of the Surah Al-Fatihah, and welcoming remarks by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi.
One of the participants, Mohammad Salleh bin Haji Nayan, who works at the Temburong branch of the Immigration and National Registration Department, said that the discussion was “agreeable” towards their views and opinions in improving the quality of services for the public.
Meanwhile, Haji Zaman bin Haji Arsad, the Village Head of Kampong Bokok, said that the session gave him the opportunity to interact closely with the minister and share views towards improving the quality of health services in the country.
Hajah Siti Rahmat binti Haji Ajak, from the PERTIWI Association, said that she found the dialogue “beneficial” in terms of bridging the MoH and the public, and hoped for similar sessions in the near future.
