A CERTIFICATE presentation was held yesterday at the Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Mukim Kilanas for 37 youths who had just completed a course on Qasar and Jamak prayers.
Qasar is the shortening of the obligatory four-raka’at prayers – Zohor, Asar and Isyak – into two raka’ats, while Jamak is the combination of Zohor with Asar and Maghrib with Isyak.
Presenting the participants with their certificates was Haji Amir Hisyam bin Haji Masri, Acting Director of the Mosque Affairs.
The course was jointly organised by the mosque’s committee members and Mosque Affairs Department to impart religious understanding to the youths of the Zone III area in Mukim Kilanas.
One of the participants, Mohd Raimi bin Haji Rosli from the Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik Mosque in Tungku-Katok, said that he found the course ‘beneficial’ and also praised the organisers for their efforts.
Another participant, Mohd Ruzaini bin Haji Rosli, a member of the same mosque, commented that the course helped him gain more information on obligatory prayers and how to adjust accordingly while travelling.
