THE Senior Citizens Activity Centre in the Brunei-Muara District recently held the closing ceremony of Dikir Syarafil Anam at the Community Hall of Lambak Kanan National Housing Scheme.
The religious gathering, which also saw the presentation of certificates of appreciation to advisors of Dikir, started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Haji Ali bin Emran followed by Dikir Maulud performed by a group of men and women from the centre. Prayers to bless the ceremony were recited by Haji Adnan bin Haji Tamit.
Deputy Chairman of the Centre, Haji Hambali bin Tengah, then presented awards to two Dikir instructors.
Also present at the ceremony was the Acting Deputy Controller of Pensions at the Community Development Department, Er-nawati binti Haji Mahir, as a representative from the Department of Community Development of Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The Senior Citizens Activity Centre is under the administration of the Community Development Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and was established on May 1, 2013.
The centre, which is also active in economic, health, social and religious activities, currently has over 200 members.
