THE Wisdom Bowls Club (WBC) of Brunei Darussalam had to accept failure in retaining the WBC President Trophy after losing to Labuan Sports, Welfare & Culture Club (KSKK PL) in the two-round championship which ended yesterday.
The WBC trio of Haji Johari Achee, the club’s President; Haji Mohd Taha Haji Mohd Tahir, Vice President II; and Deputy Secretary II Sufri Mohin succeeded in the VIP triples event over KSKK PL led by Rithuan Ismail and represented by Nor Aizan Mait and Roslee Haji Omar.
However, that would turn out to be the only positive news for the team as KSKK PL breezed to a comfortable win taking the game 14-4 to snatch the WBC President Trophy from WBC’s grasps.
Meanwhile in the under-20 category, Labuan Under-20 emerged winners after sweeping aside WBC 10-2.
WBC will draw their attentions next in an international triples competition marking the start of the New Year at the same venue at Labuan International Lawn Bowls Arena, Malaysia which begins from December 28 to January 1.
